UMBRELLA is a studio in the very center of Belgrade, agreeably arranged for a short stay of a couple.
Nested on the third floor of an old apartment building with an elevator, in the heart of Belgrade, UMBRELLA packs a neatly organised studio on its modest 25 square metres of floor area. From the entrance you come straight into a little kitchen that is functionally partitioned from the rest of the room via breakfast bar.That ‘rest of the room’ is pretty much taken up by a standard double bed with night stands and a lounge chair, whereas the custom made narrow tv stand blends into the wall opposite the headrest. The bathroom is small and simple, with a built shower. Although it faces the building’s skylight (a rather recessed one), it does not get much daylight inside, but this is resolved with some fine lighting solutions inside the apartment. On the other jand, it is exactly rthis orientation that makes the apartment very quiet, given its location which is noisy by default.
With just three minutes walk you will get to Terazije, and a five minute walk gets you to Republic Square and Knez Mihailova Street. The neighbourhgood lives 24/7, testified by the working hours of surrounding bars, kafanas, and fast food shops. When all is taken into account, one might characterize it as an affordable overnight in the center of Belgrade for a couple, or as a neat base for a city break. It is also close to a structurally similar NOOK, so if it is unoccupied, another couple could join in. To sum up, if you were looking for a cheap overnight in the center of Belgrade, UMBRELLA might be the right choice for you.
