5 Totally Sexy and Totally Unpopular Apartments in Belgrade

For it is well known to you that a thing does not therefore cease to be true because it is not accepted by manyBaruch Spinosa

To anyone even remotely acquainted with a subject, linking one of the greatest thinkers of ethics with short term rentals business in Belgrade may seem like a deliberate grotesque. The ethical code of some of the stakeholders in the short term rental business is much closer to Genghis Khan’s worldview, than the one Mr Spinosa advocated.

In spite of that, his thought is a perfect introduction to our current rambling.

And that is the karma pay-off, we feel we owe to certain apartments in our offer.

To say that an apartment has not found its rightful place is absurd, because it’s the end-users who decide about it. So if the apartment doesn’t “click” with the guests, it’s the end of story, really.

There are, however, some downright sexy and yet very unpopular apartments and we can’t shake the impression that the guests deprive themselves from a good lodging by not choosing them. And though it is unlikely that our recommendation will skyrocket them, they do deserve an honorable mention for aesthetically reasons.

So here’s the list. 5 totally sexy and totally unpopular apartments in Belgrade

A4

A4 is the first professionally designed apartment in our offer. Looking at it today, the retro details are quite discernible (they were trendy at the time), but it still looks interesting. It has a bathroom perching in the middle of the kitchen which is hidden behind the skillfully painted panels. The living room is no less impressive. The mixture of authentic old town architecture is combined with elements of interior that imitate Far East. Anyone who’s been in A4 is likely to remember the old brick furnace, a set of old stools  and a waishicu – lookalike (traditional Japanese bedroom). More details on A4 and its booking facility can be found here.

OWL

This apartment is an epitome of a successful refurbishment. Most of its furnishings are in their mid forties, but they’ve all been repainted, upholstered and licked into shape. Successful redesign  is at its best in kitchen. If it weren’t in Vračar, you could easily mistake it for a rustic, aristocrat ambiance of English Midlands. More on apartment OWL could be found here.

SPLENDID

SPLENDID was luxurious when it appeared in the market. Today, it’s a well equipped one bedroom apartment with a modern, minimalist interior and quite a few original details. It is also a hell of a lot more accessible nowadays, because much worse accommodations come at the same price. So if you dig Dorćol (the real, lower part not the fancy slope from Knez Mihailova) there is really no reason not to take SPLENDID into consideration. you can check its availability straight away.

REBUS

REBUS is an apartment that makes us speak in a torrent of contrasting adverbial clauses. This ingenious loft apartment is enigmatic and authentic, and yet it looks like it does not belong to the Balkans. It is unbelievably simple in arrangement, and yet its overall organisation leaves a fantastic impression. With the exception of the few appliances and kitchen accessories, there is nothing lavish about REBUS, and yet it looks very elegant. We could go on like this for hours, but in order to get the real impression we advise you to take a look at the photos. They say so much more. Or just go and book it.

PROTON

PROTON is our pet. Its interior design is eclectic and really refreshing. Anyone with a slight interest for aesthetics will absolutely love this apartment. There is really nothing gaudy about it. Although we could say a lot of nice things about its walk through bedroom, its snuggled living room or a kitchen that came out of an American sitcom in the 90s, we will let the images speak for themselves. If you also want to go from words to actions, go on and book PROTON right now.

And there you have it. If you were intrigued by any of these snippets, now may just be the time to check them out in details. That is if they’re still there at the time you read this text. If not, enjoy the photos as they will remain as a monument to once creative efforts.
