Despite\u00a0the fact that his bestseller Outliers<\/strong><\/em> was about exceptionally successful people and not apartments, we here at BeoApartman assure\u00a0you that the ones we are writing about today are nothing short of outliers.\u00a0They are products of exceptionally good<\/em>\u00a0circumstances and a hell of a lot of effort, and their coming to life has made a tectonic change in the market of spa apartments in Belgrade<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"That being said, OCEAN and MEDUSE are not apartments per se<\/em>. They\u2019re an homage to the union of serious industrial design and innovation on one side, and the fine aesthetics with pure hedonism on the other. Both hardly fit into existing classifications in our current offer. They\u00a0are meduim sized\u00a0spa centers,\u00a0both more or less untouched at the time this text was written.<\/p>\n

Now, praising an accommodation that hasn’t had a dozen guests yet is a bit of a risky undertaking. Our general practice is to have\u00a0both the apartment and the host prove themselves before we give them credit.<\/p>\n

In case of OCEAN and MEDUSE, we are willing to take that risk.<\/p>\n

For one, these spa apartments in Belgrade were never intended for mass consumption. Secondly, once you get to see their offerings and the high standards of delivery in each cubic\u00a0inch of their space, you will be crystal clear that the people who stand behind it leave little to chance.<\/p>\n

BOOK\u00a0OCEAN NOW<\/a> BOOK MEDUSA\u00a0NOW<\/a>\n

OCEAN and MEDUSA take up the bottom and first floor of a one storey\u00a0house at the outskirts of Zemun. The space was conceptualized\u00a0as a luxurious showroom for\u00a0a company that has been producing Spa&Wellness technology\u00a0for almost two decades. Specialized in production of jacuzzis and bathroom equipment, their assortment was\u00a0recently supplemented\u00a0by Finnish,\u00a0infrared and wet\u00a0saunas (hammams).<\/em> In all honesty, if you were thinking of installing unique shower cabins in your bathroom their solutions are really something.<\/p>\n

Moreover, they’re\u00a0ISO 9001 certified. Technically, if even a small portion of the discipline and directed efforts required to acquire it\u00a0\u201cspilled-over\u201d to the accommodation service provision, you’re in for a treat.<\/p>\n

And it has.<\/p>\n

BiG time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On the ground floor, coated in fine granite tiles, next to the staircase stands a lacquered black door. Its dimensions give you absolutely no hint of the wonder that hides behind it. And for those keen on spa\u00a0and\u00a0wellness it is a treasure cave.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A room spanning over a hundred square meters of floor area, with arched ceiling opens up in front of you. The first impression is nothing short of surreal. As if you entered an intimately furnished living room, that happens to have its own swimming pool<\/strong><\/em>. Coated in a mosaic tiles that imitate antique Roman baths, this beauty literally lures you to jump in and bask in it till your skin shrivels.<\/p>\n

Hidden in the left corner on the edge of the pool, is another, smaller hydro-massaging pool – or a giant jacuzzi bathtub for\u00a06 people. Its sophisticated mechanism\u00a0filters the water through sand filter, disinfects\u00a0it with\u00a0an ozonizer and the Ph value of water (its acidity) and the Chlorine levels can be manually controlled. It has also got a self regulating mechanism which controls the water level – depending on how many people enter or exit the tub.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then there is the living room. The large L-shaped sectional\u00a0with its accompanying coffee table, leans\u00a0on the wall right next to the swimming pool. Neutral colours and turquoise details fit in perfectly and enrich the ambiance. The opposite wall is reserved for a mini bar, a high-end floor lamp and a TV screen with a diagonal as wide as a home cinema.<\/p>\n

The good stuff doesn’t stop there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The first is behind a opaque velvet drapery \u2013 it is a very simply, but incredibly effectively furnished en-suite bedroom. Apart from the queen-sized double bed, two nightstands and yet another TV, there is no other furniture in the room. In spite of that, the interior is very remarkable. Simple forms against the backdrops of RGB lights from the ceiling combine really well with the rays of white led light that splash\u00a0behind the shutter shapes on the wall. The room\u2019s ambiance is truly unique and intimate.<\/p>\n

\"\"The second unusual item stands right next to the bedroom. It is a proper little Finnish sauna. With just a few square meters of space, this nice little spot is covered in finest\u00a0cedar and\u00a0heated up to a 90 Celsius temperature by a Harvia<\/em> furnace. Accent lighting emphasizes the wooden contours\u00a0and\u00a0the side wall and entrance are in see through glass. So, you get to overlook the entire room from it.<\/p>\n

As well as the aroma shower which is see through on both sides.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In OCEAN, even the shower is unusual. The ceiling plate pours a\u00a0“tropical rain” effect \u2013 its large smooth drops patter onto the guest in the shower while the fruity refreshing aroma fills the air\u00a0and enlivens the space and your senses. It is all enriched with accent LED lighting that comes from the ceiling.<\/p>\n

There’s no two ways about it – scenes from OCEAN will stay with you for a lifetime.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The fourth in the row is the hammam<\/strong>\u00a0– the steam bath. Its few square meters pack a long, ergonomically adapted bench with a finishing in a glass mosaic. It’s a place to relax at a pleasant 40 degrees temperature or a detox therapy at 60 degrees. The humidity in the hamam is incomparably higher from the one in the Finnish sauna, and the temperature is adapted to those who have a lower tolerance to heat.<\/p>\n

Second floor treasures\u00a0another spa&wellness gem in Belgrade. Although slightly less spectacular, MEDUSA is closer to a proper apartment than OCEAN. It is\u00a0still, however, far from being standard\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On the generous 80 square meters floor area, snuggled in a bright attic, MEDUSA represents an interesting combination of an open space apartment<\/em> and a spa parlor<\/em>. All functional areas have been framed with wooden beams while the open space bordered with beige granite tiles.\"\"<\/p>\n

The lovely L-shaped sofa is nested in the first alcove under the oblique line of the roof. It combines dark nacre-like plush and a pleasant golden saffron upholstery. There is also a large ottoman which serves as\u00a0a large leg rest. Flat screen\u00a0TV is fitted on the wall next to it.<\/p>\n

\"\"The next section\u00a0holds a jacuzzi bathtub, and not just any jacuzzi bathtub. With two seats (or a single lying spot), this skimming bath, with sand filters, ozonizers and PH regulators is neatly packed into the second alcove. The complex futurist element of spa technology is in perfect contrast with a motif of antique Roman mosaic that cover the coating of the pedestal it is installed in.<\/p>\n

\"\"The thing that distinguishes MEDUSA from all other<\/em> apartments in Belgrade is its dry salt therapy room<\/strong><\/em>. Regardless of what health benefits (or hazards) this form of therapy might have, the room is designed in\u00a0the same aesthetically impeccable manner. Its walls are covered in blocks of Himalayan brick<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and the randomly positioned back-lights emphasize its\u00a0exotic texture. Halogenizer\u00a0(a device that creates the therapeutic micro-climate), sprays the natural stone salt particles in the room,\u00a0and\u00a0two wave-shaped\u00a0wooden benches offer a nice place to\u00a0relax and watch the second TV which is mounted on the wall opposite the headrests.<\/p>\n

\"\"MEDUSA puts two bathrooms and a separate toilet at guests disposal. The first of the bathrooms which is right next to the hammam, is another aroma shower<\/strong><\/em>. Unlike the one in OCEAN this was built in between the two walls, but it comes with yet another interesting detail\u00a0– a miniature TV screen. OK, even the owners say that it is purely for show-off. But if you wish to watch the TV while you are taking a shower you can definitely do so.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The bedroom is hidden from sight, and its\u00a0modest floor area is filled with yet another feat of contemporary interior design. Next to the double bed, whose custom built upholstered headboard goes from floor to ceiling, the rest of the wall is covered with frame-less mirrors. Hanging above the night stands are the two lamps, and the atmosphere in the room cam be further adapted via RGB lights.Finally, \u00a0there is another bathroom there and it looks as if it were carved into the wall.<\/p>\n

There is not a single part of the apartment that you could call so-so or mediocre. Starting from the structural elements (the doors, windows, beams, tiles, and worktops) to each piece of furniture, everything is sumptuous. Its spa elements are unique in our offer.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

OCEAN and MEDUSA are in fact luxurious spa centers, and as such have plenty of idiosyncratic features.\u00a0Unfortunately those apply to their price and functionality as well. Hence,\u00a0it would be good to calibrate your expectations before you book them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now,<\/p>\n

Although we have named it a Belgrade apartment for short term rent with a swimming pool<\/strong><\/a> on more than one occasion, OCEAN is far from a classical apartment. It has\u00a0no kitchen, laundry, pantry, terrace or other elements you\u00a0would expect from an apartment. Its\u00a0lighting solutions are nothing short of fantastic, but you will have to go outside to get a glimpse of daylight.\u00a0To be perfectly honest, if there was any, it would perturb the overwhelming feeling of\u00a0privacy. It does not matter when you enter OCEAN\u00a0– its ambiance is a microcosm that exists in total separation from the outside world.<\/p>\n

Besides, OCEAN has been excluded from the price rule that goes for all other apartments for a day in Belgrade – \u00a0the price ought to decline proportionately to the length of stay. Unfortunately, the complex equipment that runs OCEAN is very energetically demanding, so the\u00a0price reduction in the long term is not applicable. Moreover, its accommodation capacity is minimal as it is intended to sleep only two people and the furnishings are inadequate for everyday\u00a0life. It is in fact an exclusive ambiance for an exclusive gathering<\/strong>, and as such it holds a special place in our offer.<\/p>\n

Things are slightly different with\u00a0MEDUSA. The price is far more affordable,\u00a0with plenty\u00a0of daylight, and in a sense, it is more adapted to needs of ladies keen on wellness. It also has a\u00a0kitchenette and greater accommodation capacity.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Needless to say, the accommodation is complemented with the necessary towels, bathrobes, slippers, hot beverages and even a bottle of bubblies (and it\u2019s not just any bubbly). This ought to be enough to spark up the atmosphere that is of\u00a0itself special.<\/p>\n

These spa apartments in Belgrade are perfect places for a bachelorette party (or bachelor\u2019s for that matter) or as a slightly more extravagant spots to relax with business partners, group of friends and the\u00a0likes. Whatever\u00a0the occasion might\u00a0be, it is going to get a hell of a lot more \u00a0as special in either of these two places.<\/p>\n
