Because of its tumultuous history, oldest parts of Belgrade were quite unfortunate with urban planning. The infrastructure of the inner city core was meant to accommodate far fewer people than the city has at present. Today,\u00a0any urban development in the center\u00a0would pose\u00a0a considerable financial challenge. Most of the Old Town is under state protection and impervious to change, as it represents the little that remained\u00a0of capital’s tangible cultural heritage. There are, however, other parts of the \u201cvery center\u201d, that may be considered underdeveloped and many adept (and less adept) investors have recognized the fact.<\/p>\n
The part of town that had a serious make-over in the past decade is Belgrade\u2019s smallest and most densely populated municipality \u2013 Vra\u010dar. Chubura, Neimar and Crveni Krst as its constituent parts, have changed tremendously in this period. Many of the old hovels and shacks have given way to the multi-storey apartment buildings.<\/p>\n
Vra\u010dar is cluttered with contrasting examples of this construction renaissance. They range from very inspiring<\/em> to what we have dubbed a castling of uglies<\/em>. We here, at BeoApartman, like to focus on the good stuff, rather than the bad as the former is quite rare. \u00a0And the one we are focusing on today is nothing short of excellent.<\/p>\n

One of the good examples of these millennial embellishments of Vra\u010dar are\u00a0apartment buildings opposite to Saint Sava Temple. One of them, built in 2015, was made to meet the needs of contemporary urban individuals (should read\u00a0wealthy<\/em>). With a small number of apartments on each floor, chromed postboxes in the lobby, wooden panel coatings in the corridors, beautiful elevators, a brand spanking new garage (you could literally eat off the floor there), it is anything but\u00a0standard. In a positive sense, of course.<\/p>\n

Next to the door is a large, floor to ceiling built-in wardrobe with a reflexive surface. A long corridor connects all other rooms in the flat. They are the open plan living room with adjacent kitchen and dining area, the bathroom and the bedroom.<\/p>\n

\n“Open plan” in case of JOVAN could be called the great outback. This really roomy space is accessed through arched passageways rather than doors on one side, and the outer wall of the apartment is fully windowed on the other. Apart from letting an abundance of daylight inside\u00a0it also provides the most lovely view of Belgrade – but more on that later.<\/p>\n

The kitchen area is compact and unobtrusive. Apart from the tailored cabinets and cupboards with neatly arranged hotplates and worktops, guests also have a microwave at their disposal (and no, it is not part of a standard offering when Belgrade apartments are in question<\/em>). Next to the kitchen is the dining area where\u00a0a simple dining table in light sonoma is combined with two folding in bright green colour. This natural and intriguingly effective contrast is, in a way ,the leit-motif of the whole apartment. It is amazing how the two colours\u00a0add up to the genuinely pleasant and celestially soothing\u00a0atmosphere.<\/p>\n

\nThe sitting area of the living room\u00a0is also shares the pleasant sonoma nuances. The three seater sofa and the armchair are accompanied with a simple TV stand and a coffee table. The three seater can sleep another two people.
\nA unique, unusual detail in this room is its RGB lighting system. Owing to intelligent micro-controllers, the lights in the apartment can be adapted to shine in 16 million different colours by simple addition of red, green and blue. This practically means that you can adapt the lights in accordance with your mood or try to induce a different one by using them.<\/p>\n

\nFrom here\u00a0you can exit onto the small balcony with a lovely garden sitting set for four. Now this is literally a perfect spot<\/em> for a morning coffee (or whatever beverage you take in the morning) and only so because of the view. When you qualify a view in Belgrade as wonderful it is a rather disputable quality, as Belgrade is not endowed witha particularly concinnous\u00a0panorama. However, this luxurious apartment for short term rent in Vra\u010dar eliminates doubt,\u00a0as it is the apartment with the most beautiful view in Belgrade.<\/strong>\u00a0Scenery encompasses an unspoiled view on one nicest buildings in Belgrade The Temple of Saint Sava. You don-t have to be a believer to pay your homage with silent admiration to an architectural and construction feat that has embodied a cult of personality that has survived for seven centuries.<\/p>\n

\nThe modern day cosmopolitan individuals are more likely to appreciate the fact that they have a nice piece of landscape architecture in front of their door \/ and that is the Vracar plateau – in spite of the significant national hallmarks. Next to it is the second most important cultural institution in Serbia, which is the National Library.<\/p>\n

\nJOVAN, however, has a few more aces up his sleeve. Going back to the interior of the apartment towards the bathroom, you will find yourself in yet another small temple. This one is dedicated to hygiene. The bathroom is impeccably neat. Over-sized wall-to-wall mirror with appropriate LED\u00a0lights, a wall built flushing system and floor heating going even beneath the shower<\/span><\/em>, make JOVAN truly one one of a kind. On top of that, the stereo surround system\u00a0has\u00a0speakers\u00a0all over\u00a0the apartment. This means that you can listen to the news, or your favorite tunes even during your morning toilette. JOVAN is currently the only Belgrade apartment for short term rent with this kind of practical luxury in it.<\/p>\n

The last in the row is the bedroom. It has another built-in closet\u00a0of considerable proportions, a standard double bed and a small desk with an appropriate light green Eames inspired chair. This room is also covered with speakers, has a fine lighting solution, fitting night stands and curtains with draperies.<\/p>\n
From a design point of view, JOVAN is head to toe, a disciple of the contemporary interior design trends. The decorative details are few but purposeful. The apparent lean principle that enhances the living space was applied to furnishings as well – not a single piece of furniture is there without a function.
\nIn addition to the phenomenal view, we should mention that the immediate neighborhood profited in terms of gastronomical facilities. The building itself hosts an organic food dining establishment on the ground floor, and just across the road is the aptly named Beer and Sausy. Further away in a street parallel to yours, is the renown Villa Maska, whereas Peyton Place and the few surviving Chubura kafanas will take a ten minute walk.
