We always feel a slight discomfort when we have to write about luxury apartments for rent in Belgrade in English.
For one, luxury becomes a rather relative term if you enter Serbia from the West.
Apart from VILLA, which was a pure show-off, most of the other properties in our offer could never have been branded as perversely luxurious. They looked good, smelled good, had imported furnishings and interiors designed by proper architects. But they were actually just high above the average living standard in Belgrade – which is quite low to start with. There were no real, universally acknowledged luxuries in them, and to be honest we don’t think there ever will be. Let’s face it – we rent apartments in residential buildings which are nothing more than a cheaper (albeit more commodious) alternatives to hotels.
The other thing is we find really excruciating, and we will try to bury this opinion under a mountain of text (because the last time we spoke of a subject that yanked our chains sincerely, we almost got sued), is the competition.It’s bad enough that the content gets spun in our mother tongue (and it’s done quite badly, for the record), but now we see the same thing happening in world’s lingua franca as well.
As much as we hate to admit it, the majority of visitors of this blog are not the potential customers, but armies of copycats. Honorable mentions go to Goran Stan na Dan, and guys from Apartmani u Beogradu. Well done muppets!
In the beginning we did not mind plagiarism. On the contrary, it was flattering to see others do what we do. Nowadays, however, as even more people who are as thick as two planks join in the business, this dubious practice has reached absurd heights and went way beyond. Our taglines had been used on so many competing websites, that we are truly thinking of changing our own into BeoApartman – the birthplace of all spun content on short term rentals in Belgrade.
One can almost hear the chanting: So what? Nobody can own an idea. Fair enough. But why not go hire a marketing agency? Or someone else, because you people (we know you’re reading this) are sucking the life out of internet with your hybrid illiterate shite.
Anyway, where were we….
…ah, yes, Luxury apartments for rent in Belgrade!
We have all the reason to believe that these have changed tremendously, and we have three apartments to prove the case in point…
The practice insofar demands that we should use gradation. In other words, start from the least impressive and end the list with a killer. In this particular case, it’s conditional. There’s only three of them on the list, and they are all giants in their own size category.
PRINCESS
The first on the list is the Princess.
A wee bit robust princess, but her elegance and fashion sense are indisputable.
And she is ripe with contrasts.
The first of them will kind of poke your eyes out, as soon as you enter the apartment. Just like a post-apocalypse work of art, a tall ceiling, has been “disemboweled” right in the middle to uncover the concrete beams smeared in a color of the copper ore. The fine textures are emphasized even further with accent lighting. Something you don’t get to see everyday. Or every month. Actually, before it becomes a trend (just like our tagline) that everyone uses to imitate exclusivity, we may just say that it is the finest design solution of a suspended ceiling we have ever encountered. Before Romance, that is.
PRINCESS’s twisted little harmony doesn’t stop there. Adequately chosen floor tiles of a Belgrade grey nuance, hide away from sight another great detail – Floor heating. The walls carry the same leit-motif: the side which you-ll be mostly turning your back to is white, and the other, to which the smart tv is attached displays a real masterclass of painting trade. Even the sofa, fits in the ambiance with its colours. The bathroom is equally exclusive. The last, but most certainly not the least of the amenities is the terrace that overlooks the slope of Terazijska Padina Park.

FANTASY
PRINCESS is followed by nothing less than a FANTASY…
In a same post-modernist or post-industrial manner, it combines the rough and elegant and the seemingly incombinable materials. Unlike PRINCESS, FANTASY does have a separate bedroom and an open concept living room, with one of the most inconspicuous and yet well equipped kitchens we have ever seen. The colour palette mixes teal, grey, brown and white radiates smoothness, whereas the brick, wood and rough concrete, taking their turns on the walls, are so well arranged that you might think its an outcome of an interior design contest. The harmony of incongruous elements is accompanied by a rather adequate dose of convenience too .Floor heating, bookshelves with books(!), plenty of gracefully positioned wardrobe space and all of the home appliances for a comfortable stay are there. Its decorated French balcony overlooks the traffic-heavy Prizrenska street, but is likable nevertheless.
FANTASY is a proper fantastic one bedroom apartment in the very core of Belgrade.

ROMANCE
And then, a bit of ROMANCE…
…of which the namesake Belgrade apartment could write volumes.
Without exaggeration, ROMANCE has one of the most impressive interiors you will ever get to see. The architectural tricks of trade applied in FANTASY and PRINCESS, reach their pinnacle here. Which was to be expected, as ROMANCE is the most prestigious of the three.
The contrast of robust and contemporary present in other two luxury apartments for rent in Belgrade has been replaced with pre-war elegance and glossiness of modern day design trends. The whole apartments gleams in celestially mild bright overtones, and instead of the predecessors’ halogen lamps in ROMANCE you get crystal chandeliers and sophisticated lampshades. The floor (heated) has been covered with arete tiles, and the decorative details on the ceiling and the bathroom are a manifestation of applied art at its finest . Kitchen has a rustic-futurist (if such a thing exists) sophistication, and its few square meters hide a plethora of kitchenware one would expect to see in jet-setters abodes. Exclusively.
And the bathroom….well, we choked a bit when we first saw it.
We are not kidding…you get to look at Gustav Klimt’s Kiss in the shower. If it did not sound that colloquial we would call it brutally fine, but for now we will stick to a description jot more elegant than the rest of the apartment. The bedroom is furnished in pretty much the same manner as the living room. This means that you can see your reflection on both the floor and the ceiling. Literally, everything that should characterize a luxurious apartment is there, including a terrace view over the slope of Terazije Terrace.

TL;DR
The only thing that these apartments lack for a full-Monty is their own parking space. If you don’t mind public garages, there is a multi-storey one right across the park. That is under two minutes walk from the apartment building.
And Volia! Once again, a thing that we thought would not happen for a while, happened sooner than we thought. And the outcome?
We have been exhilarated…
In the Balkans, a place of chronic lack of funds and knowledge, experts are usually the last people who get consulted. However, when the stars do align, the creative minds of this godforsaken peninsula come out at their best. Luxury apartments for rent in Belgrade will never be the same again and the benchmark has been put higher once again….in spite of our latent skepticism.
